Sean Foley and I spent an unforgettable day on the water with Dan Gone Fishing.

Boy were we shocked when we stumbled upon an incredible feeding frenzy by whales and dolphins. I wish my pictures showed the scale of this in a better way. It was incredible and overwhelming.

Nature is an amazing showcase. This Humpback whale was straight in front of our boat when it began its dive. The tail was huge. I wish I could give it scale. I won’t ever forget this day on the water.

“Portfolio: Whale Sounding, August 2020”

Sean Foley and I spent an unforgettable day on the water with Dan Gone Fishing.

We left at daybreak and headed way out to the east of Montauk, further out in the Atlantic than I have ever been in a small boat. We started our fishing trolling for tuna. We began seeing whales and started following them to see if they would lead us to fish.

Boy were we shocked when we stumbled upon an incredible feeding frenzy by whales and dolphins. I wish my pictures showed the scale of this in a better way. It was incredible and overwhelming.
