Space Imagery from Mark D Phillips
I have always looked to the heavens ever since I was a child. I was born into “The Right Stuff” generation, watching the astronauts of Mercury through Apollo become the heroes of my childhood. I stood on a roadside in Hernando County, Florida, and witnessed one of our worst space tragedies, as I photographed the explosion of the Space Shuttle Challenger. Three years later, I photographed Discovery’s triumphant return to space and Atlantis’ rollout for the next mission. I witnessed my first Total Solar Eclipse in Aruba in 1998 and am smitten. It is the most amazing experience that I can’t wait to view again.
