FOUND IN BROOKLYN
In 2012, the city came back to life with the opening of the Freedom Tower. Squibb Bridge gave Brooklyn Heights access to the waterfront and Brooklyn Bridge Park for the first time since the BQE cut it off from the East River. The Towers of Light filled the sky on the 11th Anniversary of 9/11. Just a few years later, the bridge was closed due to structural damage from the construction of a controversial condo building and one hotel in Brooklyn Bridge Park that took away much of the view from Brooklyn Heights.
