I may be known for my 9/11 photograph, Satan in the Smoke, but it was the result of a long artist-in-residency in New York City. For 35-years, the skyline of the city was a subject, background, and experimental zone for my photography. These are some of my favorites. I was invited to a brand new penthouse in Brooklyn Bridge Park for an amazing 4th of July party with fireworks on the East River. It was one of the best fireworks shows I have ever had a perfect seat for. Manhattan gave the perfect foregrounds and backgrounds and Macy’s provided the showers of light.
